First Barony / Re: Week 30: July 22 - July 28

What were last week's goals?

Another lab (already done the second one).
The dry shampoo
At least 5 more small cleaning projects
Install the cash app on my phone
Really deal with the floor. Vacuum, sweep, etc.
Finish transcribing old audio episodes to figure out where I'm actually at.
Plan where to go from there on audio project.
See if there's anything at all I can salvage from unpublished stuff I've already done before recording more.
Additional paying work.
Friend's additional project/assignment.
Get down to 26 to-dos if I can.

How did they go?

HA no. I got as high as 71 to-dos.

What are your goals for this week?

Basically the same list, minus the cash app thing.

How productive was last week? (Scale: 1-7. 1 = minimal/not-at-all; 7 = maximum/Master Productivity)

Going with the month so far and not just this past week?
... a 1. At least for my todo list. The dailies were even messed up most of the month. It felt like I barely managed to take care of my cat, let alone anything else.

Could anything be done be more productive/efficient?

Already doing so. Had to get tough with myself and set up an additional accountability system with the very folks who were distracting me. XD

Forget just having Habitica consequences - knowing these folks I expect probably a mortifying public prank if I don't do enough this week. There's a good reason to have a fire lit under you! 0.0;

How would you rate your wellbeing? (Scale: 1-7. 1 = lowest point, 7=highest point)

Oh, that's at a solid 6. My arthritis still sucks, and I'm stressed as heck but... Oh wow, a lot has changed the last few weeks.

What would have made it better?

If the situation I've found myself in didn't come with so much stress?
But honestly that's fine. I'm fine. This is fine. >.>

Any additional comments?

What HASN'T changed for me since July 3rd? ... my grad school plans, and maybe my hope to own a Tiny House someday or something. But which state I'm looking at living in next, who my nearby friends will be, who my closest circle of friends are (that's shifted more than outright changed, really, since a few friends are common to both groups)... even the person I was crushing on for 6 months rejected me, which lead to two people I'm friends with basically fighting over me, which was... a weird experience that didn't even really happen when I was younger. o.o; What I'll probably do for work in the meantime has somewhat changed... just... everything's changed. But in a way that feels like adventure, even if a stressful one that could go badly just as easily as it could go well. Even parts of my religious / spiritual past that I've grown distant from are sort of getting reintegrated, in their own, new, different-but-still-the-same way, plus I've also made a slight academic research breakthough, too. (NOT related to the "lab work.")

Put it this way, my current desktop background shows a dusty road going through scrub lands, with the quote: "Great Things Never Came From Comfort Zones."

That about sums it up.

I'm riding an emotional high right now from life circumstance reasons. A lot of dead or at least sluggish things fell away to make room for risks I'm scared to take, but probably will. I've spent years doing what should have only taken me six months. Now, at last, I'm looking at doing in a matter of months what I wouldn't have dreamed of accomplishing for years. Might even travel to a bunch of states I've never been to - my current number is 19, but if I earn enough between now and when I might travel, I could get as high as 26 if I recall. (And "enough" isn't as much as one might think, I'm pretty shoestring with these things...)

Frelling FINALLY, though.
I'm scared, but excited.

Also - @OneWhoDreamz - depending on how you feel about swearing, if cleaning is an issue, may I recommend the website / blog UFYH? Their methods worked pretty well to motivated me. Unfortunately the F stands for exactly what one might guess it does, though... But other than that, it's a down to earth method that's adaptable to all sorts of personal capacities for cleaning. So... thought I'd recommend it. (Unless I did already, which I probably did, so WHOOPS.)

What were last week's goals?

Cutting back a little from my prior ambitions, see if I get this much all done...

Additional paying work.

A friend also gave me a sort of additional project/assignment.

I checked, and I'm down to 45 to-dos, and I wanna hit something like 26 if I can.

How did they go?

I... got SOME vacuuming done?
Seriously, I got 0 else done, and I haven't even added all my to-dos over the 45 to my to-do list because I'm ashamed. So several are just on a paper list. I didn't even do all my dailies. I mostly just was... uh, let's say having a severe mental health crisis. Severe.

What are your goals for this week?

Same as above, plus some additional cleaning / meditation time this week, the latter hopefully helping with the mental health symptoms among other things. I'm mostly just posting this early in the week to get back to a Sunday / Monday posting time.

How productive was last week? (Scale: 1-7. 1 = minimal/not-at-all; 7 = maximum/Master Productivity)

1. Just... 1.

Could anything be done be more productive/efficient?

If I was smart, not spending time with the people who sent me into this mental tailspin.
But unfortunately I'm not that smart.

How would you rate your wellbeing? (Scale: 1-7. 1 = lowest point, 7=highest point)

3.

What would have made it better?

The mental health got worse, but the conversations I had this week also made some other things click into place. Nonetheless.................. Same as for productivity.

Any additional comments?

Never trust D&D DMs who cosplay as Deadpool.
Trust me on this. It's weirdly relevant.
No I will not explain further.
Just take it on faith.

What are your goals for this week?

FINISH THE LAB WORK - TODAY.
Drive an old lady to the local VA to file important paperwork on Thursday.
Finishing dry shampoo is no longer on hold - also must be done this week.
Need to figure out and install the cash app on my phone too, since the person paying me for it won't use paypal for some silly reason, and I'm probably going to do other work for this person in future.
Really deal with the floor. Vacuum, sweep, clean it with a paper towel and all purpose cleaner, go over the carpet with a rubber soled shoe to get the cat hair into little piles (works weirdly well), something. Anything.
Back up some files for a friend.
Finish transcribing old audio episodes to figure out where I'm actually at.
Plan where to go from there on audio project.
See if there's anything at all I can salvage from unpublished stuff I've already done before recording more.
Try to do at least another 25 hours worth of additional paying work.
Also, if I can, two small sewing projects.

I'm currently sitting on 54 to-dos, and while some may be added, of the ones there at this time, I only want to see 38 of them left by Sunday, at a maximum.

How did they go?

Well... The lab work bugged out but got done, after a fashion. For the rest...
Yes.
No.

Partially.

No to all the rest... except sewing.

Down to 46ish todos.

What were last week's goals?

2 week old lab work I'm mad at myself about.
Tiny tasks / small-to-medium chores (About THIRTY of these.)
Old laundry, new Ironing - will mostly happen Thurs / Friday when home alone.
Vacuuming, somehow.
Transcribe old audio episodes to figure out where I'm actually at.
Plan where to go from there on audio project.
See if there's anything at all I can salvage from unpublished stuff I've already done before recording more.
As many hours of additional paying work as I can do, really.

On Hold:
Big cleaning project
Finish dry shampoo.

How did they go?

X Nope, its three weeks old and I'm gonna try to finish it today.
? Uh.... I dunno, I got down from around 81 to-dos to about 49ish (not counting adding 6 for a differnt guild's challenge), though, so it's improved.
!!! THE LAUNDRY AND IRONING GOT DONE. I DID ABOUT A THOUSAND BOSS DAMAGE TO A BOSS WITH THAT ALONE, NO HABITICA POWERS. That's what happens with 193 items on a checklist though. XD
X Vacuuming did not get done. Boooooo...
? About half of the old material got transcribed.
? I didn't do any of the rest last week, but this week I did about 25 hours worth of additional paying work. So there's that.

But that's because...
!!! I GOT THE BIG CLEANING PROJECT THAT WAS ON HOLD DONE TOO.
There was this stain thing in my shower that didn't respond no matter how much I scrubbed it with various bathroom cleaners.
The solution, when determined enough to remove it at any cost, was to USE A PUMICE STONE and THEN use a limestone based cleanser. (Bon Ami, but probably the same as Ajax??) That buildup had been there over a year and it's finally gone. Except for leftover weird streaks from not getting the limestone thoroughly cleansed off there, in spite of trying to use vinegar to help dissolve it... Still better than something that was probably alive.

What are your goals for this week?

If you don't count the part of this week that's already gone by, last week was maybe a 4.5. But as of today, it feels more like a 5.5. I had some "off" days, but I also feel like I earned them a bit more than usual. Stuff's getting done, and I don't want to burn out.
I'm pretty happy about where I'm at right now, except for the small part of my brain that wants more sleep. Even my arthritis isn't totally murdering me right now. *knocks on wood*

Could anything be done be more productive/efficient?

Probably actually doing real meditation would have helped? Also my mental health has still been super off. Even my Tourette's is making a cameo appearance, which it doesn't do all that often now that I'm older. Trying a new system to deal with one element of the OCD though. We'll see if it helps. I know that sounds more like a wellbeing thing, but my OCD has lodged itself firmly in the navigator's seat of my productivity for most of my life. Habitica gives it a map to hold so it can navigate a little, but even with that it will sometimes hold it upside down so that I drive in circles. I'm basically trying to grab that map, look at it, draw a route outline in bright marker, and hand it back. I'm working on overhauling my habitica, including notes on tasks, but it's slow going and those are tasks in themselves. *sigh*

How would you rate your wellbeing? (Scale: 1-7. 1 = lowest point, 7=highest point)

4.8

What would have made it better?

Sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep. Also not caving in when a little old lady offered me junk food, but I hadn't eaten in nine hours and I didn't trust anything else available to not give me actual food poisoning. Ugh. I need to re-batten down the hatches on what I eat anyway. I've gotten too lax. Looking through my weight data for the last two years, I discovered I fluxed more than I thought I had - thought I was going up and down by 15 pounds, discovered it was actually 24 pounds between highest and lowest, and I'm sitting around in the lower middle of that. (8 pounds above the bottom of that flux range.) Also noticed some patterns with when it was better vs worse. While I'm unable to fully stick to what I was doing when it was better (because I don't control the groceries around here), I shouldn't neglect to at least lean as far in that direction as I can.

Any additional comments?

Sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep. Seriously, I could sleep for like a week.

Also, OneWhoDreamz, I understand what you mean with
Quote
Define the fine line between procrastination, lenient with myself (reasonable), and "bite more than I can chew, but don't notice I'm choking..."
Yes. That. All of that. I've been using UFYH's method of doing 20/10's (like Pomodoro, but even more lenient, basically) for a lot of my work. Sometimes the 10's are true breaks, sometimes it just means I switch between a more physical task and a more mental task (and which one gets the 20 and which one the 10 depends on which one is my real focus). It also helps with the guilt of feeling like I should be working on one task while I'm working on the other - because technically, I'm making progress on two things, but avoiding burnout on both. It's better if the 10 can be a true break though, especially if the physical task is the focus. I estimate that the next time that happens, where a physical task is the focus, the break / 10 minute spot will be a bit of both - 6 of my newer tasks are a reading challenge from another guild, and honestly I may just use the audiobook of that for the 10 minute break. (I know, I'm sorry. I know.)

What were last week's goals?

7 more hours of lab work
Help person from parent's church for a day.
Tiny chores. (At least 2-3 of these.)
Finish up laundry, etc.
Additional floor cleaning / vacuuming.
About 18 hours of additional paying work.
Transcribe old audio episodes to figure out where I'm actually at.
Plan where to go from there on audio project.
Audio editing (if I use old material), possibly recording.

On Hold:
Big cleaning project
Finish dry shampoo.

How did they go?

Nope, Yup, Nope, Half, Nope, Nope, Nope, Nope, EXTRA nope.
I may not even get to use the old material I'd planned at all due to some info I got on Friday that almost actually screwed with my sense of knowing my own past. It was a bad day. I barely managed to salvage a cohesive self-narrative. I think I've got a working patch for the new data though, so to speak.

What are your goals for this week?

How productive was last week? (1-7)

5 - Wound up doing work for the Church Lady twice, got help with gas money the second time in exchange.

Could anything be done be more productive/efficient?

Other than stuff I'll mention in the wellness discussion, uh... Not sure. There's probably something I could have done to wrest control of my mental health, but yeah, between my mental health running away twice over and my physical health going through the floor, that... mostly accounts for it honestly.

How would you rate your wellbeing? (1-7)

Right now it's about a 4.5, but for most of the week it was a 2 or even a 1. My osteoarthritis in my feet even started hurting the main calf bones of my right leg a little for a day there, and I honestly spent most of Saturday barely able to get out of bed. Wednesday and Thursday - and to be honest, Friday too, but for vastly different reasons - were just a sea of bad mental health. As a result, my To-Do list climbed from a low of 37 on Wednesday morning to a high of 82 by Sunday afternoon. I've since started getting it back under control (it's at 67 right now), but it's gonna be yet another mountain to climb.

Any additional comments?

Uh... is this all going Wednesday to Wednesday now? I noticed dates like the 13th and 20th... I just can't work like that. Because while I don't mind if the challenges are done on Wednesday, there's no way in heck I'm going to schedule myself that way. I'm doing this as a Monday start. after already moving from a Sunday start. A Wednesday start is too frelling confusing.

What were last week's goals?

3 more hours of lab work tonight or tomorrow morning.
Finish dry shampoo.
Tiny chores.
25 more hours of paying work, minimum 19.
Ironing MUST be done, some more laundry should be.
Sewing and knitting and whatnot. (THE MINIMUM GOT 100% DONE)
Additional floor cleaning / vacuuming.
Tried to schedule personal project audio editing.

On Hold:
Big cleaning project

How did they go?

Lab stuff: Last week's got done. This weeks? I started on it, my computer crashed, all my progress deleted itself, and I got discouraged and didn't touch it again and now it's going to be super late because something came up tomorrow and it probably won't happen.
Dry shampoo: Stalled because the person might not be able to pay me for awhile and I don't want to use the ingredents - even the oat flour I carefully prepared - for that when they could be used for other things if said individual completely backs out.
Tiny Chores: ALMOST done. Like, 75%-80% done. Really, there's only three of these that didn't get done. 2 1/2 really...
The other paying work DID get done, but I don't know if it will transfer to my bank in time, and there's always more of it.
IRONING GOT DONE. The laundry also got mostly done. They're the same checklist on my todos though, so there's still a lot of push to finish the last little bit so I can get all the rewards and XP that will come with finishing it. It will be the longest checklist I have ever checked off - 185 items long.
The minimum sewing got done... didn't go beyond that yet.
Vacuuming did not get done.
Nothing related to the audio editing stuff got done. Ugh.

What are your goals for this week?

7 more hours of lab work - Delayed til Tuesday / Tomorrow.
Help person from parent's church for a day. (Obligation - already done today/Monday.)

How productive was last week? (1-7)

5. In spite of my schedule going out the window, I managed to make more of my goals than usual, even when I worried I was about to physically break.

Could anything be done be more productive/efficient?

Not unless someone's invented a pill to remove the need for sleep, or a magic wand to wave that would reduce my bad mental health symptoms to nill?
I think it will be better when I dig out a little more and know which end is up and reintroduce the schedule. ... I hope it will be, anyway.

How would you rate your wellbeing? (1-7)

4. On the bright side, I CAN BREATHE, which I couldn't earlier in the week.
On the down side, my arthritis is... bad.

What would have made it better?

IDK. Yoga? A foot soak in salt? lol

Any additional comments?

Nah.

75% done.

Hah, not even half that.
In progress.
Maybe about 10% done.
No.
Ha, no.

What are your goals for this week?

Since there's new lab work, let's be honest, it's the same list.

How productive was last week?

4-5. I stuck with a brand new schedule for a day or two, it helped a lot, started feeling really good about it. However, things fell apart the moment family stuff collided and one of my friends needed my help because she almost called off her engagement, or did. Or something. It's complicated.

Could anything be done be more productive/efficient?

Not really. I'm not sure how to handle it when my mom wants Non-Paying work done RIGHT THEN, but then somehow I need to earn what feels like a ton of money within a week and don't really have time to do both. I'm only NOT having important things like cell and car insurance cut off because I negotiated a deal to move bills that were due May 20th and May 22nd to June 11th and 15th, respectively.

How would you rate your wellbeing?

3. I had about 36 hours where I perfectly followed the newer diet I'm trying to set up for myself, and then had another day later in the week where I slept for more than 6 hours for the first time in, what, a month?

What would have made it better?

Not feeling guilty every time I sleep because the only way I'd ever manage to get everything done that everyone seems to want me to do (bill collectors, parents, etc) would be to be awake 24/7 or so.

Any additional comments?

Feeling pathetic. There ought to be enough hours in the day to do all of the things. I'm doing something wrong, but can't fully figure out what.

What were last week's goals?

Try and finish last week's lab work, and any more assigned this week.
Make Dry Shampoo for a friend who is paying me to do so.
Various Tiny Chores
Aim for an additional 30 hours of paying work this week, minimum 15.
Ironing & Laundry MUST BE DONE THIS WEEK. (Finishing ALL of it is the only good reason to be minimal w/prior task.)
5 or 6 smallish sewing / knitting projects
Some additional sweeping / maintenance vacuuming

On Hold:
Big cleaning project
Personal Project Related Audio Editing
Roomba repair

How did they go?

Got all of last week's lab work done, and half of this weeks, need to do the rest tonight(?), Will probably only get 4 hrs sleep.
Got over halfway through the dry shampoo project.
Half of the tiny chores got done? Ish?
No additional paying work got done, but I have a schedule drawn up to solve it a bit.
No more ironing got done, but about half the laundry or so got done.
No sewing or knitting got done.
No additional other cleaning got done, or audio editing, etc.

What are your goals for this week?

3 more hours of lab work tonight or tomorrow morning.
Finish dry shampoo.
Tiny chores.
25 more hours of paying work, minimum 19.
Ironing MUST be done, some more laundry should be.
Sewing and knitting and whatnot.
Additional floor cleaning / vacuuming.

How productive was last week? (Scale: 1-7. 1 = minimal/not-at-all; 7 = maximum/Master Productivity)

4 to 5 - got some stuff done, not as much as I'd have liked, but got a good foundation for more productivity this coming week, as an experiment.

Could anything be done be more productive/efficient?

Set a schedule that will also give a little time to stuff that winds up on the back burner. There's a little time for almost everything. Hopefully that will help my anxiety and let me focus on whatever I'm needing to do at that moment.

How would you rate your wellbeing? (Scale: 1-7. 1 = lowest point, 7=highest point)

3 - Breathing was awful. Mental health was worse. My OCD is absolutely running away with me.

What would have made it better?

I need to stand up for myself and say no to some of the things others ask of me during the few functional hours I have.

Any additional comments?

Got a late start for my Monday. That's no good. Cut most of my break time out, will try to show myself some "tough love" for this one, at least for a few hours here. Not my normal approach, but my normal ain't working.

By investment in their goals, I just meant that whatever their goals are, it seemed Barron Williams' idea in setting up the ranking system was largely that people who are in the guild longer will also naturally move up ranks because they stay consistent in being held accountable and coming back to Habitica and the Guild to take stock of progress, rather than giving up or quitting both the guild and possibly the pursuit of those goals for one reason or another. Like if the guild was about New Years Resolutions, but you know how people give up on those things by February when they prove too hard half the time???

So those focuses you mentioned are actually totally in line with that. Hopefully my original post makes more sense plugging in this data as what I mean by that phrase?

What were last week's goals?

Active:
New lab work assigned for this week.
Various Tiny Chores
Full Vacuuming
Somehow come up with the rest of the money I needed... Yesterday.
2 smallish sewing / knitting projects

On Hold:
Ironing
Laundry & Folding
Big Cleaning Project

How did they go?

I ironed around 7 shirts, got about 1/4 of the lab work done and am possibly looking at losing that gig, did a lot of tiny chores but have maybe around three left? Did none of the sewing I needed to do, and the list has increased to 5 smallish sewing projects, I DID get the vacuuming mostly done, and wound up using funding I was supposed to use for something else and putting in all of my resources down to almost the literal last penny. (I got down below $10 across all bank and cash and even piggy bank resources. Not good.)

Nothing else got done though.

What are your goals for this week?

Try and finish last week's lab work, and any more assigned this week.
Make Dry Shampoo for a friend who is paying me to do so.

Roomba repair

How productive was last week? (Scale: 1-7. 1 = minimal/not-at-all; 7 = maximum/Master Productivity)

4. At least a few ironed shirts got done.
Also one unlisted task happened that got me 20% of the way to my financial goal for the month - participated in a Lincoln-Douglas style debate (think Debate Team style, not what passes for debate on the internet these days) and won a small cash prize.

Could anything be done be more productive/efficient?

Uhm... well, right now I'm distracted by existential dread involving one of my core goals in life and relevant research and that's... heavily distracting, yeah.

How would you rate your wellbeing? (Scale: 1-7. 1 = lowest point, 7=highest point)

About a 4? I've been having a bad week for my arthritis, but I'm breathing a lot better (started before vacuuming, but that probably helped too.) The attic AC got put in and that's helping a lot, as did some financial relief in the form of winning that debate and making the dry shampoo stuff - both which pay a lot better per hour spent on it than anything I've done in a long, long time.

What would have made it better?

I have been sleeping... terribly. Just... terribly. Also keep meaning to get back into more regular yoga to help with the stress and it keeps not happening. I also got punished the last time I tried to do shinrin-yoku stuff, my mom was mad at me for "wasting time in the woods" while her ironing was undone, even though I was out there less than 20 minutes, and her stuff will easily take days to wade through, and it's kept me from going back out again.

Any additional comments?

Didn't file it under wellbeing because it's not on my radar much right now, but... my weight has shot back up a bit the last couple weeks. I've gained about five pounds, and I'm only about 15 lbs less than the heaviest I've ever been as it is, so that's... kind of depressing. Part of me regrets giving up trying to do the Paleo/Keto thing as part of it. The main reason I dropped that was because I found out I didn't have diabetes or pre-diabetes, plus beggars can't be choosers and I'm not really in charge of what food is available to me, much. I'm still eating less carbs than before, just not refusing if rice is the main thing around - which it will be this week. Plus for a bit there, eating carbs again helped me sleep at night.

However, as mentioned, I've been sleeping terribly lately, and that could also be part of the reason I've gained weight.

Also, I was listening to a thing on how telling people your goals makes you less likely to achieve them unless there is a sense of actual accountability. I know Barron William was trying to actually discuss that with folks... would it be a good idea for people within any given Barrony or other unit (to keep it to small groups) to do that? (Just to have feedback from multiple people on the same level of investment-in-their-goals, and not just whoever is on the level above in that sense?)

Idk. Just thinking out loud since we don't seem to be interacting as much as we should as it is.not just whoever is next rank ups?

Also, OneWhoDreams, Google usually allows it's employees 3 hours of mental decompression time in a workday, weirdly enough. So you're about on track for Silicon Valley. :-P  Might help you feel better to plan that time into planned breaks instead of feeling like you're procrastinating though.IDK.)

What were last week's goals?

Active:
New lab work assigned for this week.
Various Tiny Chores & Roomba analysis
Somehow come up with the rest of the money I needed... Yesterday.
Ironing
2 smallish sewing / knitting projects

On Hold:
Laundry & Folding
Full Vacuuming
Big Cleaning Project

How did they go?

Ahahaha... they didn't.
The roomba got dissected a little and maybe 75% of the smaller chores got done, sure, but nothing else got done, and the sewing projects kind of multiplied in the process, because my cat decided to have some fun with her claws on some of my dresses. My bill deadlines are getting close, so I get to start making some incredibly awkward decisions.

What are your goals for this week?

Modifying them to be more honest, put the ironing to the bottom, bring up the vacuuming because it's starting to screw with my allergies and takes less time, and I won't probably get to the ironing anyway.

Also these in no way represent all of my Habitica to-dos, for the record. I started today with 42, need to add two from my journal notes (haven't chron'ed yet because this was on yesterday's todo list and I'm gonna let myself check it off before I can add things).

So... really I have 44 to-dos and probably need to modify two of the pre-existing ones, plus the longest of those to-dos is a checklist with probably around 120 items at this point, and needs even more added. That's how wild things are right now.

2. At least the roomba got done, and I also patched up a friendship the breaking of which would have cost me a third of my income for NEXT month. (Doing business with friends is a bad idea, do not do the thing, learn from my mistakes!)

Could anything be done be more productive/efficient?

It's getting terribly tempting to tell myself I'm not allowed to eat until my work is done, even if that means a week long fast. I've gone that long without food over grief and it isn't dangerous to me and doesn't QUITE call up memories of when I had an eating disorder as long as it's a true fast. Using intermittent fasting is probably a better idea. IDK.

How would you rate your wellbeing? (Scale: 1-7. 1 = lowest point, 7=highest point)

3.5 I can slightly breathe better but my eyes itch and I'm getting pretty bad headaches in trade. But breathing is more important so there's that. Also the attic AC got installed 3 weeks early so I don't get to die / overheat my laptop when it's 90 out.

What would have made it better?

I have no idea. Remembering to stop and take a tylenol or ibuprofen?

Any additional comments?

In pre-emptive self care I should probably also force myself to go outside today. It's going to be raining for a week and that sucks.

Edit / Update:

I looked back at my very first post on this forum. For comparison, I was within five ironed shirts of completely being caught up on ironing and laundry at that time. Because I never got caught up, more items kept being added to the same task, and the task in question is now at 134 items, including 94 checked off, with more to be added.

The rest has cycled similarly.
*sigh*

Ironing

Other Guild's Challenge
New Lab Work

(Gee, this couldn't at all be tied to my sinuses could it? Ugh. Compounding issues!)

How did they go?

No ironing got done.
Only a few tiny chores got done.
The other guild's challenge got done. Not as much as I'd like (nixed the optional tasks), but... enh.
New Lab work only got done early today (Monday 5/7) pulling an all nighter. I'm too old for that mess, and disappointed in myself.
Not much other paying work got done, and none of the on hold stuff got done either.

What are your goals for this week?

The same, I suppose, minus the other guild's challenge since it's done, but plus two smallish sewing / knitting projects if I can manage them.

One of the "small chores" I'm just adding is that I may try to work out if I can jury-rig my ancient roomba into working again for the first time since 2009, and see what it needs. Still won't probably be able to work it for awhile. Idk.

So...

3. I didn't do "nothing," but I barely got anything done, it feels like. Some strategizing for the future happened... maybe.

Could anything be done be more productive/efficient?

Trying to contemplate if there's a way to completely rethink my habits, dailies, and to-dos or something, and maybe even schedule it out.
The schedule idea I'm toying with has lab work split between two days a week with half days off after as a reward or something, and then the other five days, cram 10 of the 20 hours of work for my mom into two of the days, and spend the other 3 days doing as many hours as I need of the higher paying but less stable work I have, including 1-2 hours per day spent on the most high risk stuff I've had on the back burner. This also puts the least enjoyable task, lab work (which if done RIGHT should only take 3 hours per day if split in this manner - but can't be split below a 3 hour chunk) positioned on days that can otherwise be seen as relaxing days, and puts the task I'm least likely to do on the days with the highest monetary profit. Those three days per week might be too big a drain though. A lot of uncertainty there. You could probably say the same about 10 hours of physical work scheduled in a row, though. I tend to do better in larger chunks with only one to two things to focus on in a day, however... and even that loose of a "schedule" or timer tends to go FUBAR easily. My mom, my health, my cat breaking something, the internet going out... It all feels too unpredictable. Right now I'm just being guided by the fact that I need x amount of money YESTERDAY and if it doesn't earn money I can't afford to do it. I also can't let the little things pile up... there's only so long I can leave basic small tasks without them actually impacting my ability to do bigger ones, which is why half the the tiny chores even got done at all. I also need to organize the back burner projects... part of why they don't get done is just because half the time I have no idea what to do next, after what I'm working on, or getting started just seems hard. Fixing half of that would be something at least.

Ignoring all that, I actually need to just have "normal" seeming hours and just put in a solid 8 hours a day five days a week on the main set of work, nevermind the 20 for my mom. I guess that gets all crammed into my two "off" days. Idk.

How would you rate your wellbeing?

3. I feel like I'm getting sick again. The moment I got home from my little medical help car camping excursion, my sinuses decided to to into complete revolt. I spent the first half of the week getting dry mouth because I physically couldn't breathe through my nose for about two days and was breathing through my mouth almost 100% of the time, and then the moment I manage to make it almost 50/50, my eyes get all itchy and dry feeling. I'm still surprised every time I look in the mirror and they don't look like I've been swimming in an overly chlorinated swimming pool. I tried a few things to help that, a two part willow bark and witch hazel treatment in particular, and things got about 60% better, but it's still a concern.

What would have made it better?

Maybe what I used on my sinuses over-dried my eyes the same way chlorine would. After all, it has similar antibacterial properties to chlorine, and I can't imagine it may not sting for the same reason. Do eyes have needed good bacteria, like the gut, but for tears? I have no idea. Also if I had found a way to NOT pull an all nighter. Heh.

What were last week's goals?

lab work
laundry & fold
ironing
several tiny chores
main indoor cleaning project left
vacuum
other guild's challenge

[plus i needed to work at least 27 non-lab hours][This is a note I added for myself that I didn't include with the guild.]

PLUS I need to take a weekend trip that involved horrific car camping circumstances.

How did they go?

Well, the lab work got done, the old done laundry got folded but the new laundry didn't really get done.
Ironing... got about 30% done and now mom's added more and it's starting to pile up.
The smaller chores only got about half done.
The major indoor cleaning project didn't get done.
Vacuuming turned into "just sweeping a little in most of the worst spots but not all of them."
The other guild's challenge got significantly worked on though and is almost done.
I did not manage the working hour goals I set for myself due to laundry and anxiety over the trip.
The trip DID get managed. I left 9PM Friday, and returned sometime between 4 and 6pm on Sunday. The vast majority of the time in between was spent in my car, including sleep hours. I managed to get an impressively decent (to me) five and a half hours of sleep on just the night before driving home, which was close enough to normal for me to make it okay with enough caffeine. (... about 4 shots of espresso's worth.)

What are your goals for this week?

Monday was mostly self-care after return from the trip and catching up on sleep.
Since coming home I have had a MASSIVE sinus problem I didn't have on the trip. I am breathing through my mouth 98% of the time right now. It's also causing pretty serious headaches. There's a camphor based oil that is helping a little, but not enough. This is causing me to adjust my expectations and seriously look at what I can and can't do in this condition.

The ironing will hopefully still get done because the steam can open up my airways. Plus there's a lot of it and I will suffer if it doesn't happen.
Lab work was the only thing truly crossed off this week - and I have a new assignment there this week I haven't added to my to-do's yet. That's going to happen because it pays, even if it pays poorly.
I will try to do tiny chores (including clean under my desk) and wrap up the other guild's challenge.
THE ENTIRE REST OF MY WEEK must be devoted to earning money with as many hours as I can. Partially because of this trip (which was worth it for saving me about $495 in medical bills), I only have a third of the money needed for last months normal bills, which are due NOW, and none of the money for next months. And that's pre-counting the pay for the undone lab work.

The undone laundry and the big cleaning project and maybe even any vacuuming (except for needing to clean under my desk) are going ON HOLD this week. They can just sit on my to-do list. I do not have the spoons.

So tl/dr...

5. For all it's flaws in the money making department, holy crap, I crossed a mountain range and saved a ridiculous amount of money and overcame an extreme amount of personal emotional fears, including some issues with the woman who was parked next to me for far too much of my time away reminding me of an even more obnoxious and abusive version of my mother. Yeah, no, the only reason this doesn't get a 10/10 is because I wasted too much time earlier in the week getting knots in my stomach instead of making life easier by earning enough to make THIS week easier. I did good, overall, considering what was on my plate.

Could anything be done be more productive/efficient?

Need to find more online work that requires my eyes and not eyes and ears, that way I can listen to college lectures or other materials and keep myself working longer. Unfortunately a lot of that, at least in the sorts of corners of the web I look in, seems geared towards doing some pretty shady stuff. No thanks. But I've found a legit source of work for today at least in catching fake entries for medical doctors who aren't actually licensed in the way they claim, or in updating listings for doctors who have moved, so there's that. It'll probably only last for today, but it will be fun, easy, paying work I can do while I try to figure out breathing and what sinuses are.

How would you rate your wellbeing?

5. I got about a quarter of the cavities in my mouth treated for free, which saves me future root canals, and discovered I do not have heart problems - I cracked a rib! I'm still rating this a five though, because holy crap, a cracked rib seems a lot better to me than "heart attack waiting to happen."

What would have made it better?

Not smacking my elbow onto the center car console when trying to sleep and giving myself a bruise. Also if my parents would listen and change the cat litter brand that I think is part of what is irritating the sinuses. IDK. I could be wrong about that guess just like I was wrong about the heart problems. Mostly I just want to breathe like a normal human being and not a living sinus headache.
